Halloween Weekend

Sorry for the complete neglect of my blog recently. Thought I would do a little round up of my weekend's events.
I'll start with the arival of my new 50mm camera lens - I am in love, the photos it produces are beautiful.
I also got this beautiful vintage SLR camera. It works perfectly and I LOVE it. Once I get some photos from it developed, I will show you them
Next my halloween outfit, I was a gypsy bride. If you've never seen My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, you should watch it. The bigger, more sparkly and the more it lights up the better. The dress wouldn't be complete without fake tan, nails, eyelashes and hair extensions.
I've only done one outfit, just before I went to the cinema to see the new Tintin movie - it was brilliant. Dress and belt - Dorothy Perkins, wrap - H&M, headband - Oakwood at Jane Davidson and boots - River Island.
This weekend I also carves my first ever halloween pumpkin! I think it turned out pretty well.
I have also included some photos of a genuine magazine I bought, it is full of pictures and articles about mermaids - hilarious but amazing at the same time!
And finally my amazing I heart horses socks - enough said.
Hope you've all had a good weekend.

Chickens

A couple of weeks ago I saw a FCUK advert, it was a girl in a garden with a couple of chickens. Not only did I love the coat in it, I also loved the simplicity of it. So today I tried to recreate it with my own chickens, Mavis and Martha, although you can only see one of them in this photo.
I'm wearing jumper and earrings - H&M, skirt - Miss Selfridge, shoes - River Island, belt - ASOS and scarf - Alexander McQueen.

Feeling like a traffic cone

Last year my family made a family christmas card, we all wore christmas jumpers and hats - it was beautiful. Now it is becoming a tradition so tonight we took our photo for this years card. Unfortunatly I can't show it do you yet but I will. I still have a beard drawn on my face...
So today I'm feeling a little like a traffic cone due to my very orange outfit or like I just escaped from prison. Jumper - Tesco, jeans - Zara, jacket and boots - New Look, belt - Dorothy Perkins, scarf - Accessorize and (mum's) bag - Hermes.
Please leave your comments, I love reading them.

In a Newspaper

Today the photo shoot I worked on last week was in the Edinburgh Evening News. The photographer was Phil Willkinson and the stylist was Lynne McCrossan, however I am gutted because I never got credited as an assistant stylist. So this is the article above.
Once again I am ebaying like crazy today - I just got myself a polaroid camera for £10! Bargain! It is just in time for starting my still life photography module.
So today I'm wearing a very sunshine outfit - leggings - Topshop, shirt - River Island, belt - ASOS, boots - New Look, leather jacket - Oakwood at Jane Davidson, necklace and earrings - H&M and the flower is from somewhere in Italy.
Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post, I read every one. Please leave your thoughts again and follow along if you fancy.

I hope you've all had a fantastic weekend.

Just another day at work today so once again cheering myself up with sparkles, this time with the shoes, t-shirt and hair band.

Disco Shoes

Today I was working so to make the day better and shinier, I wore my disco shoes. I forgot I had these shoes, I got them 3 years ago in the sale but recently I've been seeing them everywhere.
Sadly I didn't win the ebay bid for the lens last night but I do have a shiny new printer heading my way.
Tonight the weekend begins - I'm doing a whole mess of uni work - HA.
I'm wearing shirt - Soacked in Luxury, belt - Dorothy Perkins, necklace - H&M, trousers - Monsoon and the disco shoes are from River Island.

New Lens Please

I'm over winter already I think, I forget just how cold it is. Not only did I have to put a jumper under my dress today, I also had to wear a pair of gloves!
Please excuse my startled/bored looking expression in my photo today, my camera clicker thing isn't working properly so I was only able to take on photo and sadly this was it! However, on the plus side I am currently in a frantic bidding was on ebay for a new lens for my camera. If I win it will make the winter blues and this not so nice photo all a lot better. I'm also currntly in a less exciting bidding war for a printer. My printer was only 6 months old when it made a strange dissapearance and I've not been able to find it since. My uni work has been mounting up without it so it's time for a new one.
Today's outfit is...cape - Oakwood at Jane Davidson, dress and boots - New Look, jumper - H&M, belt - Dorothy Perkins, gloves - M&S and the bangles are from various places.

Pensioners

This outfit definitely needs an explanation - tonight there is a pensioner themed night at Hive (our most favourite club). I am so excited! The horrible thing about this outfit is that I only bought the skirt and rain hat for it, everything else I already owned. I am clearly and 80 year old in a 20 year olds body... Also I am kind of in love with this skirt, is that weird?
Today I was working on a photo shoot for The Evening News, it was halloween themed - outfits that you could buy and then wear again.
Right so THE outfit - skirt and shirt - charity shops, scarf - vintage, glasses - Oscar and Fitch, rain hat - Semichem, shoes - Office, pearls - somewhere in Germany and bag - Urban Outfitters.

Autumn

I think that this is the last time these trousers will be out until next year. It is really starting to get cold. Although today was a beautiful autumn day despite the cold.
This evening my tutor from uni phoned me up and asked if I'd like to style a photo shoot for the Evening newspaper tomorrow - my answer 'Umm YES!' However that has left me in a small state of panic about what to wear, I usually have an outfit planned days in advance (I'm sad, I know).
Today I'm wearing, trousers - somewhere in Florida, jumper - Tesco, socks - H&M, belt - Dorothy Perkins, shoes - New Look and (mum's) bag - Hermes.
Please leave your thoughts, I love reading them.

Hor-hey

Living in Scotland really makes you get used to the rain, but today it was the kind of rain where you thought you might drown if you went outside. I didn't drown but when I was driving to Gala the roads were all flooded which was a bit scary.
After the great response my orang-utan had the other day I thought I would show you our giraffe. His name is Hor-hey and we bought him last Christmas, once again all the money made from him was given to charity. He is made entirely of paper mache Desigual bags!
So today is quite an un-colourful outfit for me, I'm wearing a leather skirt, earrings and necklace - H&M, boots - New Look and I made the t-shirt.

Beach

Today my sister and I took our dog to the beach. My sister told me this was a ridiculous outfit to wear to the beach but I think it's kind of perfect because the stripes make it a little bit nautical and the skirt flows perfectly in the sea breeze. We went to the beach so that I could start gathering research for the short fashion film I'm making, it's based on the theme of a castaway. I don't think this beach is right though so am going to have to look for a new location.
Although it looks lovely and sunny in this photo, it was actually FREEZING, I took my coat off only for a minute to take these photos. My ears are still sore from the cold.
Todays outfit is  top - Gap, skirt - Topshop, leggings - River Island, belt - Dorothy Perkins, necklace - Urban Outfitters, earrings - H&M, boots - ASOS and bag is vintage.
I hope you're all having a good weekend.

New Coat

Today I purchased a winter coat - very sad time. On the plus side it's a wonderful burgundy colour and has a fur collar.
I didn't know that a New season of America's Next Top Model had started - All Stars = AMAZING. I've completely caught up and I am loving it so much. I want Alison to win, she is so cute.
Todays outfit is, new coat - Next, dress and belt - Dorothy Perkins and boots are New Look.
So I had fun playing with torches is today's photo, I like the effect even if it is slightly blurry.

Smoke Bombs

I listened to an interview with Florence Welsh a couple of days ago and she said that she was finding it difficult not to dress top to toe in burgundy at the moment. My only thought was that I was having the same problem. So today I wore a cheeky little burgundy outfit. Shorts - River Island, jacket and boots - New Look, top - Topshop, necklace - H&M and bag - Accessorize.
Now the other photos are from the final photo shoot I did with my fantastic model Ian. I've not selected my final ones yet and these ones haven't been cropped or edited but I think so far they are coming out well. I used smoke bombs in a couple of photos and now I am addicted to them, I think they really set the misty mood I was going for.
Please let me know what you think of the photos and if you have a favourite, to help me narrow them down.
